The “BojEn” plant in Bojnik treats organic waste from the farmers’ market in Niš, animal manure from farms and organic waste from landfills to produce biogas and generate electricity, which it sells to the power distribution grid. In addition, the company purchased a pasteuriser, which enables it to pasteurise large amounts of waste left over after processing organic waste and turn it into a high-quality fertiliser. In this way, “BojEn” has established a sustainable system for the treatment of biodegradable waste.
