The energy cooperative “Elektropionir” in cooperation with the organic farm “Organela”, and with the financial participation of the cooperative, has built an innovative solar power plant that supplies energy for the production of organic food, the so-called “agrosolar”. With agrosolar, the land is used to its full potential – plants are planted under the solar panels, which creates a microclimate that favorably affects the increase in yield, and plant evaporation cools the solar panels, which increases their efficiency and annual electricity production. This initiative organized workshops on the production of organic food using solar energy in cooperation with NURDOR, an association of parents of children with cancer, which contributed to raising awareness of energy efficient and sustainable production of healthy and organic food.
