The ArTech company, in collaboration with the ‘Experiment Zone,’ produces ‘retex’ from construction textile waste (such as awnings and tarpaulins) —a new construction material suitable for roads, buildings, infrastructure, interior decoration, and more. The innovation involves testing, standardization, and certification of the new product. In addition to sufficient textile waste for continuous production, ArTech has secured professional support from a scientific institute in Austria for research and product development, as well as the support of potential clients. By using resources more efficiently, this solution aims to reduce waste generation and pollution.

Belgrade, September 20, 2024 – With the support of the European Union within the project “EU for the Green Agenda in Serbia“, two companies in the vicinity of Belgrade recycle automotive and construction textile waste to create new products. This contributes to the transition from a linear to a circular business model, more efficient use of resources and energy, reduction of waste and greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, as well as to cleaner environment.
