INNOVATIVE PRODUCTION OF DENIM

The company “Join” from Novi Pazar, which produces denim, is gradually replacing solid fuel with solar panels, which produce energy for heating water in production, as well as electricity. A filter has been installed on the chimney of the boiler room, preventing polluting particles from being released into the atmosphere. Also, by replacing the carpentry, the company will increase the energy efficiency of its production facility. Within its corporate social responsibility activities, the company renovated the family home of one of its socially vulnerable employees by renovating it, replacing the carpentry, and purchasing a new heating device.

Energy Transition for Healthier Environment and Better Competitiveness of Novi Pazar Companies

Novi Pazar, 4 March 2024 – Due to the support by the Government of Japan and United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) four companies from Novi Pazar and Sjenica have started to use renewable sources of energy and reuse waste in getting new raw materials and products. Additionally, these companies have supported a couple of households at risk, in order to decrease energy poverty in the area, while by retraining workers for new green professional positions, they also contributed to their better employability.

28 Innovations to Decarbonize the Economy and Alleviate Energy Poverty

Belgrade, 6 September 2023 – 28 companies in total, from all over Serbia presented today their innovative solutions for decarbonization, just green transition of the economy and support to energy deprived households. These solutions’ goal is to contribute to energy efficiency, utilisation of renewable energy sources, and more efficient use of natural resources, as well as to enable the creation of “green” jobs and alleviate energy poverty. The teams behind these solutions will work with mentors in order to develop their ideas for implementation in practice, while the most successful will also be co-financed.
