CONSERVATION OF WOODY SPECIES IN THE SPECIAL NATURE RESERVE “TITELSKI BREG” AREA

For the purpose of developing a strategy to preserve endangered tree species, this innovative solution involves investigating the gene fund of affected trees, assessing their age and level of vulnerability. Special attention will be devoted to forests of Hungarian oak and South European flowering ash. This will enable afforestation using targeted, autochthonous saplings, which will not only prevent the disappearance of these forests from Titel, but will rather even increase their size.
