ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE FOR WASTE REDUCTION IN LEATHER GOODS MANUFACTURING

“DigitaLLeather” is developing software and hardware to improve leather goods manufacturing, which will automate discovering flaws in the leather with the aid of artificial intelligence, i.e. a machine learning system. This solution will enable a more precise and efficient discovery of flaws, which will enhance the usability of the leather. This will in turn lead to a reduction of industrial waste from leather of animal origin and improve working conditions in production lines. The solution was conceived for the automobile industry, but it has potential for application in other industries as well.
