This solution aims to reduce the negative environmental impact of wine production by treating wastewater and sludge from the Pusula family winery, using a constructed wetland. The “Siniša Stanković” Institute for Biological Research will pilot this system, which utilizes aquatic plants from the wetkand for natural filtration and degradation of pollutants, expecting to reduce over 90% of organic pollutants. This process is natural, chemical-free, and up to 180 times more efficient and 60 times cheaper than conventional wastewater treatment methods.
