Instead of conventional delivery vehicles, this solution envisages utilizing electric cargo bikes. “Green Express” plans to provide a fleet of these bikes, establish partnerships with existing courier services and other companies, and deliver packages in densely populated parts of the city. This will contribute to the reduction of air pollution and GHG emissions – a van with a diesel engine emits about 190 grams of CO2 per kilometer, while an electric cargo bike emits about 7 grams of CO2 per kilometer.
