PRESERVATION AND IMPROVEMENT OF THE BIODIVERSITY OF THE STUDENICA WATERSHED

This solution involved planting mixed black pine and Balkan sedge forests on an area covering 15.7 hectares in the Studenica river basin, that was recently affected by forest fires. This will also rejuvenate degraded forests, increase their resilience to fires and other stressors, and have a positive impact on the biodiversity. The plan included the use of high-quality locally sourced seeds in this afforestation effort.
