The project Smart Water Supply – Expansion of the Remote Water Meter Reading System

The project Smart Water Supply – Expansion of the Remote Water Meter Reading System aims to enhance water resource management and support the digital transformation of the water supply network operated by the Public Utility Company Raška. The Public Utility Company Raška has already implemented a software platform and installed 50 smart meters in the Kopaonik area, where digital monitoring has demonstrated improved accuracy, early leak detection, and more efficient network operation. This project will complete the replacement of the remaining conventional meters in Kopaonik and introduce smart remote-reading meters in the settlement of Supnje, where traditional meters are currently in use. Supnje is the largest settlement in the Municipality of Raška and is a priority for digitalization due to its large number of connections and significant network load.

The current manual reading system does not allow continuous monitoring or timely detection of irregularities, leading to technical and commercial water losses. The project includes the procurement and installation of smart meters, their integration with the existing digital platform, and improved monitoring of consumption and network condition. Expected results include reduced non-revenue water, fewer unnecessary field interventions, more efficient use of resources, and increased system sustainability. The project contributes to the green transition through water savings and the digitalization of public utility services.
