The Liljan kindergarten serves approximately 1,150 children. Its outdated and inefficient wood and coal boiler has been replaced with a pellet boiler, eliminating the use of 25 tons of coal per year. This reduces emissions of pollutants from the boiler room and improves air quality in the kindergarten and its surroundings. The previously used coal generated soot and suspended particles, which are the main air pollutants during the heating season in Zaječar.
