The project contributes to the operationali capacity of the Mobile Intervention Unit for Wild Carnivores, with the goal of enabling rapid responses to emergencies, mitigating potential dangers to wildlife, human life, and property. By procuring a specialized vehicle and equipping it with necessary tools for safely handling wild carnivores, the project ensures that the team has mobility and tools for efficient interventions. Conducted by experts from the Faculty of Biology at the University of Belgrade, the initiative will make a significant progress in wild carnivore conservation. It involves training activities for local staff and stakeholders, promoting expertise in wildlife management and emergencies. The project provides support to the national Brown Bear Population Management Plan, contributing to raising of public awareness and the prevention of potential human-wildlife conflicts and lowering wildlife mortality. By collaborating with diverse partners, from local communities to protected area managers, it contributes to the national conservation goals and provides a replicable model for broader application for other wildlife.
