To improve the air quality monitoring system in Pirot, a gas analyzer was installed at the automated air quality measurement station. This device continuously monitors the concentration of polluting gases in real time. The analyzer measures concentrations of pollutants such as carbon monoxide (CO) and nitrogen oxides (NOX), which can cause respiratory infections and chronic lung diseases. This initiative aligns with the Environmental Protection Program of the City of Pirot and the National Air Protection Program of the Republic of Serbia for 2022–2030. Accurate air pollution measurements will provide the basis for implementing direct air protection measures and reducing pollution in the City of Pirot.
