Repol DOO is implementing a project to expand polymer recycling capacity (plastic materials made from long molecular chains, such as packaging and films) in order to significantly reduce CO₂ emissions. The project includes purchasing and using innovative, energy-efficient equipment for recycling industrial and post-consumer plastic waste. By acquiring, installing, and testing a machine for filtering, homogenizing, and moulding plastic into granules adapted to different types of waste, along with a cooling device that can utilize external cold air, production capacity will increase from 6,000 to 10,000 tons per year. This will broaden the range of waste sources for recycling, reduce CO₂ emissions by approximately 4,656 tons annually, and save electricity. The project also contributes to creating job positions for six additional employees, engaging students in dual education programs, and ensuring the long-term sustainability of Repol’s operations.
