FEEDING STATION FOR BIRDS OF PREY AT ANDREVLJE

The feeding station for birds of prey at Andrevlje, which exists for nearly two decades, has been facing food shortage in recent years − mostly pig carcasses from nearby farms—caused by the presence of African swine fever in Serbia. Thanks to this solution, regular transport of carcasses from more distant farms and continuous supply to the feeding station will be ensured. In addition to acquiring a one-ton capacity trailer for transport, the solution includes construction of an observation post and the installation of a video surveillance system with bird recognition software. This system enables continuous monitoring of birds of prey and quick response to incidents, such as poisonings. This will significantly contribute to the conservation and protection of birds of prey in the Fruška Gora National Park and its surrounding area.
