E-mobility with solar energy and zero emissions

Milk House DOO, a leading dairy processor in Niš, will replace four Euro 5 diesel refrigerated distribution trucks with four fully electric FOTON eAumark L6 refrigerated vehicles. Powered by electricity from the company’s existing solar power plant, the new fleet will eliminate fossil fuel use for both transportation and refrigeration. The project integrates renewable energy, electric mobility, and cold-chain logistics into a single decarbonisation solution, creating a practical and replicable model for sustainable food distribution in Serbia.

Expected impacts include a reduction in diesel consumption of approximately 32,800 litres per year and a decrease in direct transport emissions of around 59.7 tCO₂ annually. The recovery and reuse of waste heat is expected to reduce propane consumption by 323-581 MWh per year, while improvements in energy efficiency could deliver an additional reduction of 72-129 tCO₂ annually, further lowering the carbon footprint of production operations.
