The City of Valjevo has developed a digital register that maintains detailed records of individual household heating devices, enabling accurate monitoring of pollution sources and more efficient air quality management. The project also identified socially vulnerable households in several neighbourhoods, including Novo Naselje and Peti Puk. These households received support to replace old, inefficient boilers with modern heating devices using gas, pellets, and heat pumps with high energy efficiency. Researchers collected demographic, social, economic, and energy data in the field, which are centralized in the database for real time pollution analysis. This enables the planning of effective protective measures and contributes to reducing harmful emissions, increasing energy efficiency, and improving the health of Valjevo’s citizens.
