This solution aims to reduce the negative impact of the wine industry on the environment by setting up a pilot system of artificial swamp soil for wastewater and sludge treatment at the Pusula family winery. This innovative solution utilises plants and natural processes to purify the water, which is both much more efficient and cost-effective than traditional methods. The system requires no chemicals, no additional energy and no transport and can reduce costs and pollution by up to 60 times. This pilot solution has the potential to change the approach to wastewater treatment in wineries and bring them closer to a sustainable circular economy.
