The project includes installing a waste heat recovery system with thermal energy storage for the “Birlec” copper-heating furnace. Following efficiency upgrades—such as SCADA integration, modernized units, and full insulation replacement—this system will capture high-temperature flue gases. The recovered heat will offset year-round gas consumption in the factory’s boiler room, which runs continuously for industrial processes, heating, and hot water. By recovering 25% of the furnace’s annual one million cubic meters of gas, the project will achieve significant decarbonization and financial savings, yielding a 42-month payback period.
